Russell commenced his career in 1972 as an industrial sales and development associate with Los Angeles based Majestic Realty. A few notable projects include a national mobile home factory development program for Redman Industries and disposition of a portfolio of company owned industrial properties to First National Bank of Chicago. In 1978, Russell formed Werdin-Parker & Associates with former Prudential Life real estate manager, Jeffrey Parker. The company relocated to Orange County where it represented high net worth Mexican families for the acquisition and development of numerous San Diego industrial properties. In 1986, Russell formed a partnership with Roger Darnell, former general manager of Orange County based Warmington Development Company. During a period of four years, the company acquired and developed industrial and commercial office properties in partnerships with CALMAT, a NYSE listed concrete materials provider, and New England Life Insurance Company. Commencing in 1995, Russell formed Werdin Development Company in partnerships with Orange County based Saunders Properties, LNR Properties, a subsidiary of Lennar Corporation, and Hanover Financial, a subsidiary company of San Francisco based, Marcus and Millichap. In 2010, Russell established a relationship with AT&T to acquire certain surplus properties. During a seven year period, Russell was responsible for the acquisition, development and renovation of over $250 million in properties with a most recent disposition of 177 E Colorado, Pasadena, a $160 million mixed use office and retail complex. In 2017, Russell formed Werdin Partners, a company to focus on acquisition and development of industrial and commercial properties primarily in Southern California. Current efforts include disposition of a $41 million Santa Ana industrial complex and coastal city 25 acre master planned industrial park with a projected $130 million valuation. Russell’s professional affiliations have included memberships in NAIOP and ULI Council. Russell received his education at the University of Southern California and offices and resides in Corona Del Mar, CA.
